Sports Kenya, established under the Sports Act of 2013, began operations on January 25, 2013. Its mandate includes managing and maintaining national sports facilities, promoting sports tourism, and developing sports talent nationwide. Sports Kenya fosters high-performance sports through training centers, supports community sports initiatives, and organizes national and regional sports events. Pius Metto is the Director General of Sports Kenya, overseeing the development and management of national sports facilities and programs. He holds advanced qualifications in public administration and management. With extensive experience in leadership and governance, Metto has significantly contributed to improving Kenya’s sports infrastructure and promoting sports tourism.
