The Kenya National Theatre (KNT), established under the Kenya Cultural Centre Act (Cap. 218), serves as Kenya’s premier hub for performing arts and cultural expression. Operational since 1952, KNT provides a platform for theatrical productions, music performances, and cultural events. It aims to nurture local talent, preserve Kenya’s cultural heritage, and promote creativity. KNT also offers training and rehearsal spaces for artists, fostering collaboration among practitioners of various art forms. CEO: Michael Pundo
Mr. Pundo holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts), a cultural leadership certificate from AFAI, and is completing an MSc in Conflict Resolution. An expert in cultural management, he has extensive experience in organizing festivals and cultural exchanges globally and is skilled in ethnic policy, theatre direction, and conflict management.
