The Kenya Film Commission (KFC) was established under the Kenya Film Commission Act, No. 4 of 2013. Its primary mandate is to promote, develop, and regulate the film industry in Kenya. KFC is responsible for facilitating film production, distribution, and exhibition, fostering investment in the industry, and ensuring compliance with film classification standards. The Commission also plays a role in developing infrastructure for film-making and providing training, technical support, and advocacy to both local and international filmmakers. Through these efforts, KFC aims to enhance the growth and visibility of Kenyan cinema globally.

Timothy Odhiambo Owase , CEO of Kenya Film Commission, is a Chartered Marketer with over a decade of experience in marketing, communication, and media. He holds a Master’s in Development and Corporate Communications from Daystar University and a BBA in Marketing from Kenya Methodist University. He has worked with Mnet East Africa, Multi-choice Africa, and Touch Media Solutions.

- Promotion of Film Industry: Develop and promote the growth of the film industry in Kenya.
