The Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation (KFIC) is a state-owned enterprise established in 1979 by the Government of Kenya. Its primary objective is to promote and develop the fishing industry, ensuring sustainable management of fish resources and enhancing food security. KFIC engages in fish processing, marketing, and the development of fishing infrastructure, including training programs for fishermen. Additionally, the corporation aims to improve the livelihoods of fishing communities by promoting best practices and encouraging responsible fishing to support both the economy and the environment.

Dr. Mikah Nyaberi is the Acting CEO of the Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation (KFIC). He holds a Ph.D. in Fisheries Science and has made significant contributions to sustainable fishing practices. Under his leadership, KFIC has advanced projects like the Liwatoni Fish Processing Plant, expected to create thousands of jobs.
