The Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) is pivotal in promoting industrialization through research and technology development. Dr.-Ing. Calvin Onyango, Director-General, holds a PhD in Bioprocess
Engineering from Technische Universitaet Dresden, and Masters and
Bachelor’s degrees in Food Science from the University of Nairobi.
He has extensive research experience, widely published work,
significant conference contributions, and numerous awards
recognizing his impactful research in food science and technology.
