The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) was established in 2008 under the Kenya Roads Act, No. 2 of 2007. KeRRA is responsible for the development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of rural roads across Kenya. The authority focuses on improving access to remote areas, facilitating transportation for agricultural produce, and supporting rural economic development. KeRRA manages road construction projects, upgrades, and ensures roads are properly maintained. By enhancing rural road infrastructure, the authority plays a key role in improving livelihoods, promoting social services, and driving growth in Kenya’s rural regions.

Eng. Philemon Kandie, MBS, is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. Eng. Kandie holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field, both from the University of Nairobi. His leadership focuses on the development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of rural roads across Kenya, aiming to enhance connectivity and support economic growth in rural areas.
