The Coast Development Authority (CDA) was established in 1990 under the Coast Development Authority Act, Cap 449 to promote sustainable development in Kenya’s coastal region. It is tasked with managing natural resources, fostering agricultural growth, and implementing water resource projects to improve livelihoods. CDA focuses on infrastructure development, environmental conservation, and community empowerment to address unique challenges such as water scarcity and land degradation. By integrating modern techniques and collaborating with stakeholders, the authority aims to enhance economic growth and support regional development in the coastal area.

CEO: Pamela Maghame Ngure

Ms. Pamela Maghame Ngure, the Acting Managing Director of the Coast Development Authority (CDA), holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. With vast experience in financial
management and strategic planning, she previously served as CDA’s Director of Corporate Services, contributing to regional development initiatives.

Functions
