The Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI), established under the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act, 2021, strengthens public health through research, disease surveillance, and emergency response. It ensures the quality of health services, promotes public awareness, and supports policy development. KNPHI also builds capacity by training health professionals and manages data to guide decision-making. Through collaboration with local and international partners, the institute addresses health challenges and advocates for initiatives that enhance community well-being and public health security.

CEO: Dr. Maureen Kamene Kimenye

Dr. Kamene Kimenye is a medical expert with extensive experience in public health. She has been instrumental in leading public health initiatives in Kenya, including work on tuberculosis programs and health systems management. Dr. Kimenye holds qualifications in medicine and public health, bringing over two decades of leadership in strategic health programs and policy implementation. Currently, she serves as the CEO of the Kenya National Public Health Institute, overseeing public health preparedness and response.

Functions
