The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), established under the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act (Cap 253), regulates the training, licensing, and practice of medical and dental professionals in Kenya. It accredits institutions, maintains professional registers, and ensures healthcare facilities comply with set standards. KMPDC investigates complaints, enforces discipline, promotes Continuous Professional Development (CPD), and grants annual practice licenses. Dr. David Gicheru Kariuki, a seasoned healthcare professional with over 26 years of experience, holds a Master’s in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Strathmore University. He has led health policy reforms, including Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage roadmap, and previously served as Senior Deputy Director of Medical Services.

Functions
