The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a statutory body in Kenya established under the Energy Act of 2019. Its mandate includes regulating the energy and petroleum sectors to ensure fair pricing, efficiency, and sustainability. EPRA is responsible for issuing licenses, monitoring energy supply, and enforcing compliance with regulations. The authority promotes renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives while ensuring consumer protection. Additionally, EPRA conducts research and analysis to inform policy decisions, collaborates with stakeholders to enhance service delivery, and fosters the development of the energy sector to meet national energy needs.
