Tharaka University, established in 2012 as a constituent college of Chuka University, became a fully-fledged university in 2021 following the award of its charter. Located in Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya, the university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, focusing on areas such as education, business, agriculture, and technology. It is committed to providing quality education, conducting impactful research, and engaging in community development. Vice Chancellor : Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, Ph.D.

Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, Vice Chancellor of Tharaka University, holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics. He has over 20 years of experience in academia, having held
various leadership roles in university management, teaching, and research. Prof.
Muriungi is dedicated to enhancing academic excellence, driving innovative research, and fostering community engagement.
