Overview

Rongo University, established in 2010 as a constituent college of the University of Nairobi, gained full university status in 2016. Located in Rongo, Migori County, Kenya, it offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as business, education, social sciences, health, and technology. The university is dedicated to providing quality education, conducting innovative research, and engaging in community development initiatives. With a focus on excellence, Rongo University prepares students to meet the dynamic challenges of the global job market and contribute to sustainable
development in Kenya and beyond.

Vice Chancellor : Prof. Samuel Gudu

Prof. Samuel Gudu, Vice Chancellor of Rongo University, is a full Professor of Genetics
and Plant Breeding. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Genetics & Molecular Biology from the
University of Guelph, Canada, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding
from the University of Nairobi.
