Ngundu Primary

Ng’undu Primary School is a public, mixed-gender day school located along Kangundo Road in the Ruai area of Nairobi, overseen by the local government authority. As of 2025, the school serves an enrollment of approximately 607 students within its 13 classrooms, operating with a pupil-to-classroom ratio of roughly 46.7:1 and a pupil-to-teacher ratio of 33.7:1. While its current infrastructure includes limited facilities, such as 8 student toilets and 5 staff toilets, the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) for Kasarani initiated a project in February 2025 to construct two new classrooms with a staircase to help alleviate overcrowding. Despite these infrastructure improvements, the school community has faced ongoing local debate regarding administrative issues, including unofficial fees for “morning prep” sessions and the challenges of limited staffing, which teachers sometimes supplement through extra hours of instruction.
