Kimana Primary School

Kimana Primary School (also referred to as Kimana Comprehensive School) is a public mixed-day institution located in the Kimana Ward of Kajiado South, near the Loitokitok border with Tanzania. Situated within a predominantly Maasai pastoralist community, the school serves as a vital educational hub while navigating unique local challenges, such as periodic learning disruptions caused by human-wildlife conflict with stray elephants. The school is managed by the government and has recently seen infrastructure updates, including a 10-door pit latrine project commissioned in early 2025 to improve sanitation. Beyond the main public primary school, the surrounding Kimana area is also home to several private institutions like Kimana Central Academy and Kimana Stars of Hope, which contribute to the region’s diverse academic and extracurricular landscape.
