Kanjeru Primary School is a public, mixed-gender day school located on an unnamed road in Gitaru, within the Muguga Ward of Kabete Subcounty, Kiambu County, Kenya. Founded informally in 1954 and registered in 1962, the school serves a large student population from the surrounding area, including a significant percentage from the neighboring “Shauri Yako” slum. The school currently educates approximately 850 students across its primary, special education, and ECDE (Early Childhood Development Education) centers. Facilities at the school include 16 permanent classrooms, an administration block, a hall, and ablution blocks, with a new special needs children’s classroom and dormitory block being a recent addition in 2024 through a community partnership.
