Dagoretti Muslim Primary

Dagoretti Muslim Primary School is a public, mixed-gender day school situated on Muthiora Road in the Kawangware area of Nairobi, specifically within the Gatina Ward of Dagoretti North. Originally established in the 1980s as an exclusive religious institution to serve the growing immigrant population, the school transitioned in the early 2000s to an inclusive model that welcomes students of all religious backgrounds while maintaining its Muslim affiliation. As of late 2025, the school accommodates approximately 1,244 students (599 boys and 645 girls) supported by a staff of 28, operating with a pupil-to-classroom ratio of roughly 54:1 across its 23 classrooms. Recent infrastructure improvements led by local leadership have modernized the campus with new cabro pavements, renovated laboratory classes, and access to safe, treated drinking water through a long-term partnership with Impact Water. Beyond basic academics, the school engages in community partnerships to provide learners with diverse experiences in subjects like Art and Chess, aiming to foster “outside the box” thinking in a holistic learning environment.
