Ayany Primary

Ayany Primary School is a public, mixed-gender day school located in the Sarang’ombe ward of Nairobi’s extensive Kibera slum area, a community it has served for many years. The school is a key government-affiliated educational institution, and its enrollment significantly increased following Kenya’s introduction of free primary education in 2003, highlighting its vital role in providing accessible learning opportunities to disadvantaged children in the area. To accommodate its large student population, which was recorded at over 2,000 pupils with about 27 classrooms, the school has implemented the national Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Beyond academics, Ayany Primary School serves as a crucial community hub, with its premises frequently utilized for various local activities, including political party nominations and ground-breaking ceremonies for new infrastructure projects like Early Childhood Development (ECD) blocks, underscoring its deep integration into the local social fabric.
