The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organization founded by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania under the Treaty for the Establishment of the EAC, which came into force on July 7, 2000. It aims to foster economic, social, and political integration
among its member states, which now include Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Democratic Republic of Congo. The EAC promotes collaboration in areas like trade, infrastructure, education, and health. Its organs, including the Summit, Council of Ministers, and Secretariat, ensure the implementation of policies to achieve a cohesive and prosperous region.
