Machakos University, established in 2011 as a constituent college of Kenyatta University, is a leading institution in Kenya dedicated to academic excellence, research, and innovation. It gained full university status in 2016 under the Universities Act, 2012. Chancellor : Dr. James Mworia

Dr. James Mworia, Chancellor of Machakos University since October 2016, holds a
Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and is a certified public accountant and investment professional. He also holds an honorary Doctorate in Business from Machakos University. Dr. Mworia’s expertise spans law, finance, and strategic leadership.
