Kirinyaga University, established in 2016 after receiving its charter, began operations as a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in 2014. Located in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, the university focuses on offering quality education in various fields, including agriculture, technology, business, and health sciences. Its mission is to contribute to the socio-economic development of Kenya by providing accessible and relevant education, fostering innovation, and engaging in research. Kirinyaga University is committed to equipping students with practical skills to meet national and global challenges.

Vice Chancellor: Prof. Mary Wambui Ndung’u

Prof. Mary Wambui Ndung’u holds a PhD in Education and has over 25 years of
experience in academia and university administration. She has worked in various
leadership roles, focusing on curriculum development, academic management, and
research. Prof. Ndung’u is dedicated to advancing higher education and fostering
institutional growth.
