CEO: George Nyakundi

George Nyakundi serves as the Secretary and CEO of the Advocates Complaints Commission (ACC) in Kenya. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Nairobi and was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1996. With extensive experience in legal practice, Nyakundi leads the ACC in investigating complaints against advocates to uphold professional standards.

Functions

  • Receive Complaints: Accept complaints from the public regarding allegations of professional misconduct by advocates.
  • Investigate Misconduct: Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of malpractice, unethical behavior, or breaches of fiduciary duties by advocates.
  • Facilitate Mediation: Mediate disputes between advocates and their clients to foster amicable resolutions.
  • Recommend Disciplinary Action: Refer cases of serious misconduct to the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal for further action.
  • Promote Accountability: Enhance the integrity and accountability of the legal profession in Kenya.
  • Issue Advisory Opinions: Provide guidance and advisory opinions to the public and advocates on ethical and professional conduct.
  • Educate the Public: Create awareness about the rights and obligations of clients and advocates in legal engagements.
