The Kenya School of Law (KSL), established in 1963 and governed by the Kenya School of Law Act, 2012, is Kenya’s premier legal training institution. It provides post-graduate professional training for law graduates, preparing them for admission to the Bar. KSL offers the Advocates Training Programme (ATP), paralegal training, and continuing legal education for practitioners. Located in Nairobi, it fosters excellence in legal practice and promotes professional development through seminars and workshops. KSL plays a critical role in shaping competent legal professionals for Kenya’s judiciary and legal sector.

Dr. Henry Kibet Mutai, Director of the Kenya School of Law, is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 20 years’ experience in practice and academia. He holds a PhD in International Trade Law from the University of Melbourne, LLMs from Melbourne and Temple University, and
an LLB from the University of Nairobi.
Functions
- Professional Training: Offer post-graduate professional training through the Advocates Training Programme (ATP) for law graduates seeking admission to the Bar.
- Paralegal Education: Provide training and certification for paralegals to enhance legal support services.
- Continuing Legal Education: Deliver continuing professional development programs, including workshops and seminars, for legal practitioners.
