Maj Gen Jattani K. Gula is the CEO of the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC), where he leads initiatives to enhance the meat industry in Kenya. He holds a degree from the Kenya Military Academy and has extensive military experience, having served in various capacities, including attending the National Defense College in Egypt.

Functions
- Meat Processing: To operate abattoirs and meat processing facilities for both domestic and export markets.
- Quality Assurance: To enforce and maintain high standards of meat quality through rigorous inspection and grading.
- Livestock Procurement: To purchase livestock from farmers, acting as a reliable buyer to stabilize market prices.
- Market Regulation: To regulate meat prices and ensure fair competition within the meat industry.
- Export Promotion: To promote and facilitate the export of processed meat products to international markets.
- Research and Development: To conduct research on meat production and processing techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
- Support to Farmers: To provide advisory services and support to livestock farmers to enhance productivity and quality.
- Crisis Management: To act as the buyer of last resort during livestock crises, such as droughts, to prevent livestock losses.
- Policy Development: To advise the government on policies related to meat production, trade, and livestock management.
- Training and Capacity Building: To train staff and stakeholders in modern meat processing and safety standards.
