The National Defence University of Kenya (NDU-K), established in 2022, aims to enhance education and training in defense and security studies. Vice-Chancellor: Lt Gen J L Mutai, MGH MBS
Lt Gen J.L. Mutai, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering and has undergone extensive military training, including the National Defence College course. Lt Gen Mutai has served in various leadership roles within the Kenya Navy, including as Commander. His expertise in naval operations and strategic planning enhances the university’s mission in defense education.
