Dr. Martha Mmasi is the current CEO of the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya. She holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the
University of Nairobi and has over 15 years of experience in healthcare management and policy development. Dr. Mmasi is committed to advancing physiotherapy services in Kenya, focusing on integrative care and community rehabilitation.
Functions
- Regulate Practice: Supervise and control the training and practice of physiotherapists in Kenya.
- Educational Standards: Prescribe minimum educational requirements for physiotherapist registration.
- Qualification Approval: Consider and approve qualifications of physiotherapists for registration.
- Maintain Register: Maintain a register of all registered physiotherapists.
- Conduct Examinations: Organize examinations for registration purposes.
- Approve Training Institutions: Approve institutions for physiotherapy training.
- Professional Conduct: Establish and enforce a professional code of conduct.
