Established in 1949 as a white-only institution, Tigoni Primary School is today a leading public, mixed day school located on Kabuku-Tigoni Road in Limuru, Kiambu County. Managed by the Central Government’s District Education Board (DEB), the school is situated in a tranquil, high-altitude environment opposite the Limuru Country Club and Thayu Gardens, uniquely featuring both artificial and natural forests on its grounds. As of 2026, it remains a significant educational hub in the region, traditionally following the 8-4-4 curriculum while transitioning through Kenya’s ongoing education reforms. With a large student population of approximately 1,353 pupils supported by dozens of staff members, the institution is recognized as one of the best-performing and largest primary schools in Kiambu.
