Established in 1910 by the Arya Samaj community, Arya Primary School in Ngara, Nairobi, is one of Kenya’s oldest educational institutions, originally founded as a school for girls. Today, it functions as a public, mixed-gender day school managed by the local government authority, serving approximately 769 students with a dedicated team of teachers. The school shares its heritage with the private Arya Vedic Academy, which offers a comprehensive international curriculum (Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge) ranging from nursery to A-levels. Arya Primary is known for its focus on holistic development, blending academic rigor with a variety of co-curricular activities such as sports days and cross-country events at Karura Forest. The institution prioritizes inclusive education, recently implementing Special Educational Needs (SEN) training for its staff to better support diverse learners.
