C.G.H.U. Primary School, located at the intersection of Ronald Ngala Street and Vyoma Street in Nairobi’s Starehe sub-county, is a public day school with a rich historical legacy rooted in a partnership between the Cutchi Gujarati Hindu Union (C.G.H.U) and the defunct City Council of Nairobi. Established in the pre-colonial era as a non-profit institution to support the Hindu community, the school officially became a public facility in the 1940s and today serves a diverse co-educational student body of approximately 240 pupils. The school offers 20 classrooms and maintains a low pupil-to-classroom ratio of roughly 12:1, providing a relatively intimate learning environment within the bustling Central Business District. While managed by local government authorities, it remains connected to its heritage through its ongoing relationship with the Hindu community and recently underwent infrastructure renovations in late 2024 to enhance its facilities for modern educational standards.
