Pumwani Primary School

New Pumwani Primary School is a public, mixed-gender day school located on Kinyanjui St in the Kariokor area of Nairobi’s Starehe Constituency. Managed by the local government authority, the institution serves approximately 462 students—comprising 251 boys and 211 girls—with a dedicated staff of approximately 13 Teachers Service Commission (TSC) members. The school features 31 classrooms, maintaining a favorable student-to-classroom ratio of roughly 14.9:1, and includes wheelchair-accessible facilities to support inclusive learning. In May 2019, the campus underwent significant modern renovations funded by the NG-CDF, which included major repairs to classrooms and offices, a fresh coat of paint, and the construction of a new perimeter wall to improve security and deter land encroachment.
