Njathaini Primary

Njathaini Primary School is a public, mixed-sex day school situated in the Zimmerman Ward of the Roysambu area within Nairobi, Kenya, managed by the local government authority. The school has recently undergone significant renovation and rehabilitation, including the construction of new multi-story classroom blocks and ablution facilities, an initiative spearheaded by the Roysambu NGCDF. Beyond its mainstream educational mandate, the institution is notable for its dedicated special unit for children with disabilities, particularly those with cerebral palsy. Recognizing the challenges these learners faced after primary education, the school, with support from partners like the Safaricom Foundation, introduced vocational training to equip them with practical, income-generating skills in fields such as catering, tailoring, and carpentry. While the general school caters to a large number of students, the special unit maintains a low pupil-to-classroom ratio, emphasizing tailored support for its learners. The school also participates in the “Dishi na County” feeding program for pupils.
