The Animal Technicians Council (ATC) was established under the Animal Technicians Act, No. 15 of 2011, and began operations in 2012. The Council is responsible for regulating the training, registration, and professional conduct of animal technicians in Kenya. It ensures that animal technicians adhere to high standards of practice, contributing to improved animal health, welfare, and agricultural productivity. ATC’s role includes setting professional qualifications, accrediting training institutions, and monitoring compliance with ethical guidelines. The Council also works to promote the recognition and value of animal
technicians in the veterinary profession.

Functions
