The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) was established in 1990 under the Export Processing Zones Act, Cap 517. Its mandate is to promote and regulate export-oriented investments in Kenya. EPZA oversees the development of Export Processing Zones (EPZs), which provide incentives such as tax exemptions and duty-free importation of raw materials to investors. These zones aim to boost exports, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth. Notable achievements include attracting significant foreign direct investments (FDIs) and enhancing Kenya’s export capacity, especially in the textile and apparel sectors
