The Kenya Trade Remedies Agency (KETRA), established under the Kenya Trade Remedies Act of 2017, aims to safeguard local industries against unfair trade practices. Its key mandate includes investigating dumping and subsidization, enforcing trade remedy measures, and ensuring compliance with WTO regulations. KETRA has successfully enacted the Trade Remedies Law and enhanced trade policy frameworks, thereby protecting Kenyan businesses and promoting fair competition

CEO: Samuel K. Chemisto

Mr. Chemisto is the Ag. Executive Director/CEO of KETRA. He holds training in Trade Policy from the WTO Institute and has over 20 years of experience in trade development. He has served in various roles, including at the Kenya Mission in Geneva and the High Commission in Islamabad. He was instrumental in enacting the Trade Remedies Law and has participated in numerous professional management and leadership training programs, enhancing Kenya’s trade policy framework​.
